Origins, Story Telling & Dinner Series

You are invited to an evening of great food and conversation. Great food always has a story behind it. The conversation will include the backstory of the evenings menu and the cooks that prepared it for you. Please join us for the inaugural Roots, Story Telling & Dinner Series. Brought to you by Brian Addison(Long Beach Food Scene) and James Tir(LB Food Coma).

This evening’s menu is prepared and served by Shady Grove Foods with a collaborative dessert by Cold Hearted Gelato and Shady Grove Foods. The menu is as follows

First –

Calas w/ Shrimp

Calas are a rice fritter that are the forerunner to the Beignet

This version is savory with shrimp and a Remoulade dipping sauce

Second –

Turtle Soup

Our version has a dark rich broth as the soup base and

is very common to a NOLA style Turtle Soup

Third –

LBBBQ Sampler

The selection on the sampler will be used to highlight and explain

What we call Long Beach Style Barbecue, (LBBBQ)

Forth –

Dessert Liege Waffle

Gelato from Cold Hearted Gelato will take this dish
