Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Recruit Training Unit will be conducting the pre-academy training classes at 2 different locations.
Event Details
The Recruit Training Unit will be conducting pre-academy training classes designed to enhance the successful completion of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's full time POST Basic Police Officer Academy. The pre-academy classes will include physical training programs as well as an academic orientation.
The first Tuesday and Thursday of the month, participants will ONLY be the general public and NOT current applicants going through the LASD trainee application process. The last remaining Tuesdays and Thursdays of the month, participants will ONLY be current deputy sheriff trainee applicants.
Participants must have applied for Deputy Sheriff Trainee position with no disqualifications in any step of the application process.
Participation is voluntary and is not a requirement for selection for the position of Deputy Sheriff Trainee, nor is participation in the program a guarantee of future employment as a Deputy Sheriff Trainee.
The pre-academy orientation program for the Whittier location will occur every Tuesday and Thursdays from 1700 - 1900 hours. The group will assemble in the gymnasium. Participants are required to wear appropriate physical training clothing (solid colored shirt and shorts), and running shoes. Participants must also bring a towel and water bottle.
